Reducing latency

Hello,
I tried to use jammr for a rehearsal session with my bandmate. We both play acoustic guitar and sing, so we both use a condenser mic connected to our audio interfaces (scralett 2i2) to capture our guitar and voice at the same time.
We both have fiber optic internet with ethernet cable connected to our Mac Books.
We live less than 20 miles one from the other, but still the latency was very high and it was impossible for us to rehars.
Is there a way to reduce the latency to a level that make possible for us to use jammr to rehearse online?

I think it is not possible. What you play now it is heard next interval by your bandmate. Try only one singer at a time inside a chord progression that fits bpi.

I like ukulele, recorder, guitar, drum, piano (absolute beginner)
