Video-Supported jazz stadards jamming: All Blues; Blue Bossa, Autumn Leaves

Hi!
When I first arrived to this app, my original idea was to practice jazz standards together with other people.
After a bit fiddling around, I realized that most standards are too long; and that it is apparently more interesting/feasible to use this app as a collaborative live lopping environment.

Anyway, I would still would like to try the jazz standards endevour. But now with some aid:

1. A drum backtrack if there is no drummer available.
2. either:
2.1 Broadcast a video (e.g. via talky.io) of my screen with one of the following progression videos playing (no audio) or:
2.2 Agree with everyone which of these chord progression videos to follow and sync that way:

All Blues(120bpm):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPyHmu2ogCY

Blue Bossa (120bpm):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikLTmLGrkl4

Autumn Leavs (120bpm)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xjf2kiDO19Y

Who's in; and when? I am in for most evenings.

PS: This forum feels like old year 2000 tech…. Maybe it would make sense to organize some sort of discord server, that would allow to create chat rooms; audio chats; broadcast chord-prgression videos instead of having to rely on on external services like talky.io or whatever members are currently using to organize things in between themselves.

PS: Regarding the discord server, I've just found out that there already exists a “Music and Audio” server on discord. I'll try to talk with people about jammr there.

Welcome pedrorolo,
You can connect a drum machine or play loops into jammr. When using software you'll need a way to route audio into jammr. On Windows there is “virtual audio cable” software that can do this, on Mac there is Blackhole (https://github.com/ExistentialAudio/BlackHole), and on Linux there is JACK.

I recommend posting the chord progression in the chat during the jam session. For more info about posting chord progressions and using jammr successfully, see this guide:
https://forum.jammr.net/topic/1724/

If a full standard is too long, you could pick a shorter section that you like and focus on that.

Hi Pedro,

See my Forum Recording from May 13 2020 (shows last post Jun 9 2020) Blue Bossa, I am on fretless.
Nice, and again the issue you mentioned, having 2 parts (A and B) we rehearsed them separately each part in a loop until satisfactory together, then put them together and simultaneously started playing the A+B formula repeatedly. Bit of a hassle I know, but hey it worked.
Would like to play together, I am in Canada, Alberta, usually playing evenings 6pm-1am :-) my time and weekend even day hours.
Cheers and welcome again,
Hardy

Thank you very much for the tip, this is an obvious approach that i haven't tried yet!
