I need a bit a practice with the basics. If someone is free to teach me please find a day and an our different from official scheduled jamming day.
Hi adi,
If you want to learn the basics of improvisation, it is good to start with scales and learning songs you like.
An easy scale is the pentatonic scale. You can find tutorials on YouTube. Basically a scale tells you which notes you could play that will sound okay. It allows you to confidently play notes because they will sound fine on top of the chords.
If you are more interested in playing chords instead of single notes, learning the major scale and keys is important so that you can think about popular chord progressions. Again, YouTube has tutorials or you can find the basic pattern here:
http://musictheory.tripod.com/chords.htmWhen you learn to play songs that you like, you will be exposed to good examples of how to use chords and single notes. You can take small pieces and use them during improvisation.
It takes practice and you will also get better at recognizing the key and finding the right notes. We are all learning and sometimes we play something that sounds bad, that's okay. I have written about overcoming the fear of wrong notes here and included some techniques to “fix” mistakes:
