Glitches can occur if the latency setting is lower than your computer can handle.

You can improve your computer's performance by stopping other programs that are running in the background.

The easiest solution is to increase the latency value in the sound settings. At some point you will “feel” the latency and playing will feel unnatural so there is a trade-off.

There are other causes for interference and glitch sounds like loose cables.

Maybe this little tool can help shed some light on where you latency is occuring
