A friend and I have been trying to jam over Jammr, but there is a huge 13 second lag. We both have Focusrites and have set the latency to the lowest value. Any thoughts? Thanks!

A friend and I have been trying to jam over Jammr, but there is a huge 13 second lag.
Notice that jammr app uses the “interval” playing system by the server. That means that the whole interval (set under bpi menu) is send to your friend later. In this case you must play a complete bar inside the interval and also your friend in order to synchronize both. The system is not recommended for a vocal duo but works well with a rhythm add a solo guitar with the incorporated metronome on!!!

This is expected because jammr is not real-time. If you run jammrs on two computers next to each other you will not hear the same audio from both machines. You hear what the other person played last interval and they hear what you played last interval.
From the Frequently Asked Questions page:
“How does jammr work?
jammr sends your audio to other users and receives their audio. In order to avoid lag, jammr is ”live“ but not ”real-time“. This means other players hear you after a fixed amount of time. This fixed amount is called the interval and can be set to fit the chord progression you are jamming to. This allows you to jam synchronised with people from all over the world.”
adi: “you must play a complete bar inside the interval” is not quite right. The interval should be set to the length of the chord progression. Usually this means several bars. For example, the chord progression Am F C G is 4 bars in 4/4 time signature so the interval (BPI setting) should be 4 x 4 = 16 beats. You must play all 4 bars in order to stay in sync.
