Novice MAC OS 10.13 unable to connect to jam after login

Upon login there were jams listed and we could see the jam we wanted to connect to. When we either double clicked on the name of the jam or clicked on the jam and hit connect, nothing happened.

The send button appeared active.
The metronome did not play.
Multiple buttons on the menus appeared to be grayed out and if we disconnected from a jam no other options were available and we had to re launch jammr log in and then we could view the list of jams available.
We could not send a message to our colleague who had set up the jam that we were trying to connect with. In consulting with him, it appeared he had full options available. He was running a Windows Operating System.

Novice MAC OS 10.13 unable to connect to jam after login

If you connected to a jam session but the metronome doesn't work (when enabled in the bottom right corner of the jammr window), then there may be an audio configuration problem.

Please try once more and then go to Help | Show log in the jammr application. Technical information about your audio configuration will be displayed. Please paste it here and I'll let you know if jammr's audio settings need to be changed.
