Hi there! A returning Jammr user - first used a few years ago and have now come back to it, but I'm having an issue:

No matter what audio device I use for input, I seem to be getting no input, no playback, and other people I'm in a jam with can't hear me (and I can't hear myself). However, output works. I'm able to join jams and hear others, and hear the metronome.

At first I thought it was the way I was routing sound through my computer to Jammr: I was routing sound from my DAW (Logic) > to Soundflower (Mac sound routing program), and using Soundflower as my “input device” in Jammr. However, it makes no difference whether I do that, use an audio interface directly, or even just my computer's built in microphone. None of them transmit any sound to others or to playback.

Any friendly thoughts? I'm on a MacOS Mojave 10.14.6, core audio. Playback is turned on, and the send button is activated when I'm in a jam. Thanks!

PS. Here's the log, if it's helpful. Maybe there's something simple I'm missing here?

No being a mac user i cant say for sure what your problem is but i can make some suggestion that may help or not

As i see from you jammr logfile i see you audio is set to 44100 maybe set this to 48000 some drivers i noticed in windows would not work because of sound card default setting of 48000

Also i see your using your inbuilt mic altough you said you using soundflower
maybe give this VST Host with jack built in a go https://kx.studio/Applications:Carla

Also maybe a glance at this compatability guild may shed some light on something

Hope this helps

Thanks for the tips! I've played around with the sample rates with no avail. Oddly, the MIDI function does seem to work (I can play with MIDI VSTs and my keyboard), but still no luck with any of the audio devices.

Hi,
You mentioned effects plugins. Are any plugins loaded in jammr while you test the sound input device?

By default jammr sends audio into effects plugins and you'll only hear audio coming from the plugin output. If your plugins don't pass through the audio to their output then you will not hear anything.

You can change this by clicking the Route… button in jammr's Effects Plugins settings for each loaded plugin and changing Audio to “Mix” instead of “On”.

We just experienced this… And fixed it.

Found this article, which helped ID the problem:
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360001502689-I-cannot-get-audio-signal-into-my-software-since-upgrading-to-macOS-10-14-Mojave-on-my-Mac

In short, for your Mac, under System Preferences | Security & Privacy | Privacy | Microphone, you must allow Jammr access to your ‘microphone’ (i.e., sound input)…

The later OSs won't let your sound go out the door until you explicitly give it permission to do so… FOR EACH APP…

I believe this is true of any audio interface, i.e., not just Focusrite, and for each app, not just Jammr.
