These two types of metals are everywhere in our daily lives, from the cars we drive to the phones we use.

Ferrous metals are metals that contain iron. Because of the iron, these metals are usually strong and magnetic. Examples include steel and cast iron. They are often used to build things like bridges, buildings, and tools because they are very tough and durable. However, ferrous metals can rust if they get wet, which is something to keep in mind.

On the other hand, non-ferrous metals don’t have iron in them. These metals usually don’t rust and are lighter than ferrous metals. Examples include aluminum, copper, and gold. Non-ferrous metals are used for things like electrical wiring, jewelry, and airplanes because they conduct electricity well and resist corrosion.

Knowing the difference between ferrous and non-ferrous metals helps us choose the right metal for different jobs. It also helps in recycling, which is important for protecting our planet. When we recycle metals properly, we save energy and reduce waste.

So, understanding ferrous and non-ferrous metals might seem simple, but it’s really useful for everyday life and for making smart choices about materials around us!
