Hello, I am an alto saxophone player. I was wondering if anyone here also played that kind of instrument on this platform and how well it worked. If yes, what microphone should i buy to have a decent sound?

I have jammed with trumpet players in the past. The option there is to use something like Silent Brass from Yamaha or to a microphone.

The advantage of a mute/pickup like Silent Brass is that you can play at low volume. You also eliminate the reverb from the room you are playing in so you have a more pristine sound that you can add effects to.

If you look at Amazon there are microphones designed for saxophone. But I think getting an all-round microphone like the Shure SM-57 and playing into it should work too.
