If you connected to a jam session but the metronome doesn't work (when enabled in the bottom right corner of the jammr window), then there may be an audio configuration problem.
Please try once more and then go to Help | Show log in the jammr application. Technical information about your audio configuration will be displayed. Please paste it here and I'll let you know if jammr's audio settings need to be changed.

jammr sees your computer's internal microphone and speaker/headphone output. After you've connected to a jam session the metronome should click. Do you have headphones connected?
Many users opt for a USB audio interface for connecting instruments or microphones. The built-in soundcard in a computer typically produces noisy recordings, so keep that in mind if you find the audio quality is poor.

In order to do that a utility for routing audio between applications is needed. You could try one of the following (I haven't tested them and this is not a recommendation):
