LiveIfOnEcho
found that if the metal connections on the end of the cable are held in hand at joining the room, and then the cable is plugged in afterward, that no error occurs
LiveIfOnEcho
seems this setup here locally is very particular about what it will tolerate. having too many apps running, switching between windows onscreen causes intermittent static and occasional boot-offs from jammr. is it static building up on the wiring, too? hard to say. anyone have suggestions?

Hi LiveIfOnEcho,
If you have a USB sound card that may work better than HDMI audio. On Linux it can help to disable PulseAudio on the device you want to use. This allows jammr to get lower latency.

You can use the pavucontrol utility to turn PulseAudio off for the device (in the "Configuration tab).
